Our team thrives on being a positive influence for our patient's oral health coupled with the benefits toward overall health and quality of life. People delay comprehensive dental care for many reasons, however, problems can quietly enlarge and become a bigger dilemma. I find it personally rewarding to help be a positive change that enhances the trajectory of someone's health, well being, and confidence.
With current technology, treatments, and services, we can overcome many obstacles that may have interfered with optimal dental care. I'm passionate about our team's role in the lifelong benefits of great care in conjunction with reducing the risk of future problems.
Education and Continuing Education
Both my parents worked in education and I've always valued the importance of learning, growing, and staying curious. I attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry, graduating in 2005 with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, and began my career at Meridian Dental Clinic later that year. Dentistry offers many challenges requiring different skills such as technical and scientific knowledge, analysis, physical performance, as well as team organization, vision, and leadership. To keep up with the ever-changing world of dentistry, I continue my education through courses and seminars throughout the year. This helps me to stay up-to-date with the latest changes in dentistry, allows for a wider range of services to be offered, and improves the level of care that can be provided for our patients.
I feel the biggest impact I can make in a patient’s life is to empower them to take control of their daily oral health habits. One of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had is being able to provide care for a patient who has desired comprehensive dentistry for a long time but has not been able to receive it. With current technology, treatments, and services, we can virtually turn back the clock and make that smile appear years younger. Quality oral wellness has a tremendous impact on a person's quality of life at every age, and I feel so proud to be able to give this to my patients.
My education has given me the knowledge base and training necessary to provide top quality care to my patients. I attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry, graduating in 2005 with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
In my free time I enjoy staying active and being outdoors as much as possible. I can usually be found at the gym, running, watching WSU Cougar sports, rooting for the Seahawks, and playing soccer and golf. My community is very important to me, and I stay involved in many ways. I volunteer at the UW School of Dentistry’s Urgent Care Clinic, the Medical Teams International mobile dental van, Give Kids a Smile, and the Rainier Boys and Girls Club courtesy of the Washington Oral Health Foundation. I am also part of the official dental team for Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey. It has been an honor associating with the team, and as a sports fan and dentist, a wonderful experience!
I was born and raised in Pullman, WA where my dad was an economics professor and my mom worked in elementary education. I've been in Western Washington since 1998 beginning undergraduate studies at the University of Washington and continued at the UW School of Dentistry until graduating in 2005. I'm extremely grateful for my amazing wife who was an outstanding nurse at Seattle Children's Hospital, is an extraordinary mother, and serves as the nucleus of our family. We are blessed to be raising three boys plus one dog! Their hobbies are our hobbies and we like to keep our boys active with school, church, soccer, baseball, tennis, golf, and whatever can keep their interest! Before my calendar became quite full as a dentist, husband, and father, I spent time as an affiliate instructor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry's Urgent Care Clinic, volunteered with Medical Teams International's mobile dental unit, and the Rainier Boys & Girls Club in conjunction with the Washington Oral Health Foundation. I have been a lifelong sports fan with continued interest in WSU athletics, Seahawks, Sounders, Mariniers, and have been part of the official dental team for the Seattle Thunderbirds since 2009.
